Another Cashie set for improved Queensland Guineas run according to Dunn

Matt Dunn, the trainer, is overlooking the most recent run of Another Cashie, expecting the three-year-old to recover and put on a spirited display in the Group Two Queensland Guineas regardless of his big odds.

After a strong return at the Gold Coast on April 4, Another Cashie trailed the field in the Daybreak Lover Plate (1400m) taken out by Guineas fancy Brave Monarch, a result Dunn wants to move past.

"That was just a disaster last start, and he'll bounce back from that on Saturday," Dunn said.

"He missed the start, circled the field, and did way too much work. He drew a bad gate, and the plan was to try to go forward, but he didn't jump, and we didn't adjust.

He just worked too hard during the race, but he's a decent horse and he deserves his spot."

Last start marred Another Cashie's record, yet his spring performances validate Dunn's confidence.

Third to Grafterburners at Eagle Farm in November, he was then narrowly defeated by half a length finishing second to Brave Monarch at Sunshine Coast to end his season.

With barrier four for Saturday, Dunn rates the $81 shot a genuine place chance.

"Absolutely. From a good gate, we can ride him properly and he'll make his presence felt," he said.

"The aim long-term is to get him through to the (Queensland Derby). He'll run that trip, so that's our ambitious plan."

Similarly, Dunn looks for talented speedster Without Parallel to make amends in race one following a tough return at Doomben exposed without cover.

Her comeback came after the Kosciusko, and despite a tricky draw Saturday, Dunn believes her condition positions her to strike.

"We're just going to have to use her speed, so hopefully she doesn't have to work too hard to get across," he said.

"First-up it didn't work out for her at all. We got stuck three-deep with no cover and things didn't pan out as we hoped.

But she's great. She will be hard to beat, she just needs a bit of luck from that gate."

Dunn's Eagle Farm squad is filled out by Maurraqa and the steady Belvedere Boys.
